"Relaxing and comfortable"
We had a really comfortable bed in the upstairs room (although you might want to consider one of the other rooms if you're very tall!) and a great view over Carlingford lough. We also had the use of the large kitchen downstairs, really handy.
The property is a 5-10 minute walk from the restaurants and shops in Rostrevor village. Our hosts couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Read less

The rooms were cosy and warm. I loved the relaxed feel of the place and the neutral tones of the rooms. It was easy to find and James the host was a welcoming figure.

"An oppportunity to see some amazing views enjoy walks and cycling in an unspoilt part of the world"
We stayed for 3 nights at the Oyster Catcher visiting a friends family to enjoy a 60th Birthday surprise and enjoying the beautiful views and attractions of unspoilt Rostrevor which boosted views of the Lock and Mountains.
James the owner was a brilliant host, he shared lots of local knowledge and historical stories about the towns past. He was welcoming, friendly and his humour kept us entertained. Breakfast was traditional and filling and the smoothies were amazing. Read less

It is very well situated just over an hours drive from Dublin. Walking and mountain biking are only 5 minutes away and the view of the lock allows you to drink up the view south and north of Ireland

the room is lovely, the b&b is very close to the town, where there are a few great pubs and Paula's fish and chips.
Dislikes:
The restaurants close early on a sunday, so make sure you're in the village before 8pm to get a decent meal. We were late and had to go for the fish and chips, which was fantastic btw.
Response from The Oystercatcher:
Gareth Thank you very much for a brilliant ( and very truthful!) review. Pleasure to share our home with you and I will get on to those early Sunday closers. Glad you enjoyed the fish and chips
